Our Story.

From humble beginnings in 1973, originally trading as S.Aceto Transport, the beginning of Quintear Pty Ltd started out more than 60 years ago with one man, Salvatore (Sam) Aceto. A true Pioneer of the industry, arriving in Australia in the 1960s the journey began with a short stint of farming, which would then turn into trucking and quarries. He began with just one body truck, which he travelled far and wide to keep wheels turning in earning a living for his young family. After establishing himself over a few years, what started out from just a single truck, would then become a small fleet, 100 sub-contractors worker under his belt, 4 hard rock quarries and sand quarries. As well, he took on some of the biggest projects Far-North Queensland had to offer over many years.

Moving into the second generation, his young and only son would take over the company in the early 1990s. Continuing Sam’s dream, the company started diversifying into interstate, remote and challenging work. It began expanding its fleet into roadtrains and would also take on numerous contracts in the sugar industry. This was rigorous work involving transport haulage and harvesting/cutting sugar 24 hours, 7 Days a week. This went on into the early 2000s, but due to major changes in the sugar industry, Aceto Transport would go back into local work and major projects in the Far-North. Another sand quarry was also started and its roadtrain operations also continued on many projects in Western Queensland. The company flourished for many years in the works it was under-taking. Years after, the roadtrain operations ceased, and the fleet was downsized, as work took a turn with Sand becoming the priority day in day out. The trucks would concentrate on providing services for local quarries and its in house sand quarry.

Around mid 2014, the biggest decision and changes to the company began. Due to many of the immediate family members moving to Brisbane for further opportunities, family became the priority as its always been. The changes began which included further down sizing of the fleet and the closure and change of ownership of the sand operations. The companies new vision and direction headed for South-East Queensland. Starting in a completely new environment, it was decided to rebrand and bring a new identity as it embarks on another journey continuing Sam’s dream. This is where Quintear Pty Ltd is born. As the company sets out starting from yet another humble beginning and continues to grow, it recently welcomed its third generation Aceto on board. A grandson. Working side by side with his father. The company is back to a small fleet. Affiliations with numerous sites Queensland wide and still involved in Sand operations. The focus and ambition still the same today, as it was for Sam all those years ago where the dream began.
